A Rich History

The Archive preserves and celebrates Ardingly College’s heritage, collecting and making accessible material of enduring historical value. The collection is extensive and tells the story of the school from its foundation in Shoreham in 1858 to the present day.

The Archive is home to a wide range of documents, photographs and artefacts, including original registers and ledgers, school magazines and publications, administrative records, trophies, uniform and even Ardingly tokens once redeemable in the tuck shop! We also hold personal items, including letters written by pupils in the early 1880s and a 1940s pupil diary.
