Meet Our New Head
We are delighted to welcome Alastair Tighe as the next Head of Ardingly College.
Alastair will join the College in September 2026, following eight successful years as Head Master of Wells Cathedral School. Before this, he held senior leadership positions at Bedford School, Eltham College and Oundle School. He studied English and Theology at Magdalene College, Cambridge, where he was also Organ Scholar.
As Ardingly enters an exciting new chapter, Alastair will build on the College’s strong foundations, continuing our commitment to academic excellence, outstanding pastoral care and an education that develops the whole child.
Speaking about his appointment, Alastair said:
“I am honoured to have been appointed Ardingly’s new Head. The College’s values and aims align wonderfully with my own, and I look forward to leading the school in its mission to educate the whole child. It will be a privilege to build on the school’s success and to play my part in ensuring that Ardingly thrives as a caring, ambitious and creative school.”
