Concerts and Trips
Concerts
The culmination of any students’ practice and endeavour is the opportunity to perform in a concert and, at Ardingly, we have a three-tiered concert provision that caters for all students, regardless of age or experience. There are regular lunchtime concerts, which are very informal in nature, whilst evening recitals both inside and outside of the College give more experienced musicians a platform for performance. The musical activity of the term culminates in the end of term showcase concerts featuring all the central ensembles of the College. Finally, there are a range of concerts spread throughout the course of the year that provide added musical direction for our students including the Remembrance Concert, Young Musician of the Year competition finals, Anything But Classical Concert and Cabaret evening.
Trips and Tours
Musicians are able to perform regularly outside the bounds of Ardingly, taking their musical talents to the local area and enjoying exposure to performing in local churches and venues. Students are taken to local concerts in both Brighton and London, whilst the Opera Society enjoys a termly visit to either ENO or Covent Garden. In February each year, the Senior School Chapel choir tour with recent visits to Vienna in 2017, Prague in 2018 and Malta in 2019.
