Over half-term, our Senior pupilsspent four days exploring Madrid and soaking up Spanish culture. Activities included visiting the Prado and Reina Sofía museum (home of Picasso’s famous Guernica painting) and having churros at Madrid’s most famous chocolatería, San Ginés.

The students had the opportunity to learn the basics of Flamenco dancing, as well as visiting Real Madrid’s stadium and walking around the Royal Palace. During the day, they were afforded the time to shop and buy lunch in Plaza Mayor and Puerta del Sol; cornerstones of Madrid city centre. On the final day, they all took part in a 2 hour language lesson, with UVI discussing IB themes such as immigration, and Remove/Fifth revising the topics of routine and life at home.
