Reflecting on recent events at the College, where we delved into the rich cultural tapestry of Black History Month and the National theme for 2023 ‘Saluting Our Sisters’, giving a special focus to the voices of Black women.

From soulful Gospel Workshops with maestro Ken Burton, to exploring movement and identity with Kloe Dean and Caramel Soldier—every session explored nuanced cultural histories and the power of creativity to connect people.

We danced with words in workshops led by the talented Erin James and delved into Black British History through the lens of drama and history through workshops created by Marjorie H Morgan. Rev. Martha Mutikani led a moving Chapel Service, and Abidine Sakande shared insights on Anti-Racism and Allyship in Sport, along with a special session for our Girls’ Cricket Team.

As we wrap up this week’s activities before half term, we carry forward the echoes of empowerment, diverse stories and shared experiences. Here’s to embracing and celebrating our rich array of identities!
