On Thursday 20th April, Ardingly College were very fortunate to host the inaugural Sloane Lecture, the first in an annual academic lecture series kindly sponsored by our former Chair of Governors, Jim Sloane.
Our speaker was BBC World Affairs Editor and veteran broadcaster, John Simpson (CBE), who took questions from an audience of Ardingly students, parents, and staff, covering a wide range of topics from the war in Ukraine and his experiences of meeting both President Zelensky and Vladimir Putin, to his memories of reporting in China and his views on the role of the media and journalists in bearing witness to truth.
The opportunity to hear from such a distinguished foreign correspondent with such a fascinating career was a real privilege and made for an unforgettable evening.
