Nick Dann is a former athlete who played cricket and polo at high levels, and he is now a Trainee Sport and Exercise Psychologist. He has worked with athletes from a variety of sports, including football, golf, tennis, swimming, equestrian sports, and winter sports, ranging from Premier League footballers to Olympians, elite athletes, teams, and children at grassroots levels. Nick has gained significant experience in different sporting environments and understands how to help people perform to their best while enjoying what they are doing.
In his work, Nick is particularly passionate about two areas of sport – working with young and adolescent athletes and elite female performance in sport.
During his talk Nick spoke of the importance of stories in our lives; looking at what stories mean, why they are so important, and how they can help us not only reach the heights of ultimate sporting achievement but how they can carry us through the difficult and challenging times that we face in a sporting career, as well as life itself. Within the talk he looked at various skills such as self-awareness, motivation, confidence and goal-setting to help us maximise the mental side of our performance.
