On World Book Day students and teachers come together to celebrate the joy of reading. Children get excited at dressing up as their favourite literary characters, and the teachers also join in on the fun.
One of the most unforgettable moments of the day for the young children from the Farmhouse was having ‘Bumpus Jumpus Dinosaurumpus’ read to them by Mrs PB, who dressed up as Paddington.
To add to the excitement, the Farmhouse arranged a special activity for the children to work together and follow clues to find objects from specific books. The children were thrilled to discover a jar of honey from Winnie the Pooh, a suitcase left by Paddington, and a snake from the deep dark woods. It was a fun and interactive way for the children to learn about different stories and characters while working collaboratively with their peers.
In the Senior School, every class took 10 at 10. For ten minutes, the teachers shared a book with their students, transporting them on a journey of adventure and discovery.
World Book Day inspires our students to pick up a book and enjoy the thrill of reading. It’s a day where the love of literature is celebrated, and we can’t wait to see what imaginative costumes and exciting activities the next year will bring.
