At the senior school, the Christmas festivities have been in full swing this month. Events such as the Senior Christmas Concert took place, followed by the Concert of Carols and Lessons. This featured a mix of readings by Senior School students, as well as Christmas carols sung by the College Choir and Schola. As the snow fell softly outside, the warm and cozy atmosphere in the chapel made for the perfect festive celebration, bringing cheer to all in attendance.
A traditional Christmas lunch, served by the catering Christmas elves was enjoyed by all. Meanwhile, the staff were treated to a Christmas party, featuring Nordic style igloos and Christmas ‘carol-oke’, with a menu of warming food and seasonal drinks. The HR department and senior leadership team at Ardingly College have also come together to create special gift bags for all the staff this Christmastime, containing various festive treats, as a way of expressing gratitude for all their hard work over such a busy term. These celebrations were widely appreciated by all. Thank you to the Ardingly Christmas elves in the HR and catering departments!
As a way of giving back the community this Christmastime, a group of Senior School elves volunteered alongside Father Christmas (Rev. Andy) at Goddenwick Farm. The Senior students assisted in the café, helping with the Christmas trees and entertaining visitors. The group raised an staggering £4,470 for Chestnut Tree House, children’s hospice.
In keeping with the Christmas spirit, all year groups and houses each enjoyed their own festivities, participating in various activities, such as making gingerbread houses.
As Christmas quickly approaches, we hope that all of our Senior students and parents have a joyful and festive end to the year.
