This term we have had the first three lectures in our series on the theme of sustainability, and all have been excellent.
First up, Mr Davies gave a fantastic and ultimately optimistic lecture on renewable energy, highlighting all the ways in which the UK could reduce its reliable on fossil fuels.
This was followed by Mr Pozzuto’s discussion of what a completely sustainable school might look like, with the students helping to identify potential obstacles and then practical solutions to overcome them.
Finally, Mr Deakin’s stimulating talk prompted students to think about the philosophical justifications for taking action now to help future generations and what the most convincing arguments might be. Thanks go to our three speakers for some thought-provoking and thoroughly enjoyable lectures, and to all the students who came long and participated so enthusiastically.
