The U13 Boys’ Hockey travelled to Bedford for the IAPS regional qualifier aiming to finish in the top 4 and qualify for the National Finals.
The team performed well throughout the day, qualifying from the group stage without much trouble.
In the Quarter-final they came up against The Dragon school knowing that a win would mean qualification, two first half goals from Luca G secured a win. In the semi final a superb performance against the hosts meant a 3-0 win with excellent team goals by Reuben G and two from Jamie S saw the team through to the semi-final and a match against a strong Felsted team.
In a tightly contested affair, the boys couldn’t quite hold out and with less than a minute to go Felsted scrambled the ball over the line to take a 1-0 win.
A silver medal was a brilliant effort from all involved and the boys are looking forward to fighting for the national title at Haileybury on 4th March.
