Beautiful Campus with Extensive Facilities
You’ll find Ardingly College on the outskirts of Ardingly village, surrounded by 230 acres of outstanding natural beauty. Ardingly College is situated in an enviable location. It offers the best of all worlds; the surrounding beauty of the Sussex countryside, close proximity to the vibrancy of Brighton on the South Coast and the culture of London and, for international students, the convenience of being just 13 miles away from Gatwick Airport.
Our teaching and house facilities are of a high specification and are subject to continual investment. Over recent years we have built new and refurbished existing houses in order to provide modern, comfortable and well equipped accommodation for all students. Other notable developments have been a café located in a central location for all to enjoy, a dance studio, a contemporary Economics and Business Studies Centre; a second all-weather sports pitch; a state-of-the-art Strength & Conditioning Centre; and a £4.5 million refurbishment and extension of our Science Centre, enabling the incorporation of the Design & Technology Department.
Our range of sports facilities includes six tennis courts, two all-weather pitches, three cricket squares, nine football pitches, dance studio, a swimming pool and a host of recreational spaces throughout our beautiful estate.
Prep Facilities, Year 3 – 6
The main classrooms for the Prep School are located in the main school building; they have all recently been refurbished providing light and spacious classrooms. The Prep School benefits from the use of all the above facilities but has its own drama studios, library, and art department.
Nursery, Reception, Year 1 & Year 2 Facilities
Known locally as The Farmhouse, from its early days providing fresh food for the College students, it now nourishes young minds.
The school is arranged as a traditional farmyard and is the award-winning conversion of the former cowshed and classrooms are light and airy. The Nursery School is housed in a converted pigsty, designed with perfectly proportioned rooms for pre-school children. In addition, there is a hall for activities and dining, assembly space, library corner, sports field, outdoor classroom for Forest School and playgrounds (furnished with Astro-Turf to enable outside play in all seasons).
The children also benefit from the facilities used by the whole school, with regular trips to the indoor swimming pool, and visits to the ‘big’ science laboratories, sports halls, Dining Hall and Chapel.
