Year Five and Six – Revolting Rhymes

Revolting RhymesThis term the Year 5 and 6’s performed: Roald Dahl’s Revolting Rhymes as their end of year drama productions. This fitted in nicely with the national celebrations of the 100th birthday of this great author. The productions were a creative challenge to rehearse and direct as we decided to stage them in the round. However, they ended up being great fun and a huge success.

Each class performed 2 of the stories that Roald Dahl so cleverly adapted. The children shared the verse out between them and played a number of different parts. They were also introduced to some physical theatre and had to be creative in their adaptions. I felt the children did a fantastic job maintaining their focus and high energy throughout the performance. The shows were most engaging and original and above all you could tell the cast really enjoyed themselves.

Thank you to all the children for making it such a successful and enjoyable show.
