COVID Secure Camps
Ardingly Active Camps have taken measures to reduce the risk of COVID-19 at our camps and to keep our Ardingly Active community safe. Our ‘COVID Secure Camp Policy’ maintains requirements expected within a school setting. Please see below ways that we are ensuring COVID Secure Camps;
We cannot wait to provide your children with an Active Camp to remember. Filled with engaging activities, making lifelong memories and friends, while in a safe and supportive environment.
Our Active Camp Leaders will sign in/out all children on the parent’s behalf and will be wearing face coverings. Where additional forms are required to be filled in, parents will be asked to use the hand sanitiser provided.
All parents dropping off/collecting will be respectfully asked to wear a mask/covering when coming inside of the College.
Ardingly Active Camps are proud to offer great flexibility for parents. However, there will be limited availability due to restrictions on capacity.
To avoid disappointment it is advised to book in advance.
Any student that is displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 should not attend camp.
Furthermore, any student that has come into contact with any person who has tested positive or shown symptoms of COVID-19 in the 14 days prior to an Active Camp, should also not attend. Upon arrival, all children will have their temperature checked and will be recorded for monitoring purposes.
At Ardingly Active Camps offer an extensive range of activities and games. But we are not able to utilise all of the campus facilities such as the swimming pool until restrictions have been lifted.
We will not be operating external trips this Easter due to the restrictions on external venues. Despite this, our programme is full of activities to keep children engaged and Active.
Children and staff will not wear PPE during the normal camp day whilst in their day bubble.
However, staff will have additional PPE equipment at hand when dealing with any intimate care and first aid requirements. Children will also see social distancing directions, marking and signs throughout camp. Reminders and rules will be communicated during the day by the Active Leaders.
Any child who becomes ill with symptoms that could be Covid-19 during their time on camp will be taken to a secure area of the camp and isolated away from other children.
Their temperature will be checked again, and the parent/guardian will be called to come and collect immediately from camp. If the child becomes seriously ill, we will call 999.
The isolation area will then be fully sanitised and cleaned after each use. If a child or member of staff has suspected symptoms of Covid-19, they will be sent home and must follow the Government guidance for households with possible Covid-19 infection. This includes self-isolation and taking a Covid-19 test. See:
