The cricket season has started strongly with the club averaging a win for over 75% of their overall matches, from 1st team level to U14B level. After a tough week against Hurst, where the U15As and 3rd XI were the leading lights, Ardingly played Lancing in week two, and recorded wins across the board apart from at 1st team level, where a young side were punished for a disjointed batting performance, having bowled and fielded excellently.
The 1st team bounced back, however, in the following week, as, once again, the whole cricket club recorded wins against Eltham College.
In terms of personal performances, there have been many of note. Harry Rollings scored 104 against Hurst in the first week for the 1st XI, and followed it up with 78 against Brighton College in T20 cricket and 94 not out against Eltham College last Saturday. In the same match Joe Walker grabbed five wickets, and followed that up with an unbeaten 38 to win the match with Rollings at the crease. In the U15s, Dominic Morgan scored a fine 57 and has bowled brilliantly in recent weeks, and in the U14s, George Gilbert has already scored over 100 runs over the season so far.
Cricket has an exciting future at Ardingly, and there are more big matches ahead.
