Sports Scholar Talk from Bobby Clay

Our female sports scholars received a visit this week from Bobby Clay. At 15 years old, Bobby was competing for Great Britain at the World Championships and was a rising star of athletics. She won the European U20 1500m title in 2015, had a professional contract and had her sights set firmly on pursuing her Olympic dream. However, through under fueling and over training, she was diagnosed with Osteoporosis at just 18 years old. Bobby shared her story, touching upon subjects around Relative Energy Deficiency in Sport (RED-s) and the importance of menstrual cycles. She provided excellent advice for our talented female athletes.
