Prep School Poetry Declamation Evening

Poetry DeclamationSunshine, snow and storms – this year’s celebration of poetry was on the theme of  Weather with pupils choosing works they liked from poets James Carter, John Foster, Roger McGough, Ted Hughes and Walter de la Mare.

Every pupil learned all or part of a poem and recited it in class and a  shortlist from each year group was chosen for the Poetry Declamation evening. The  children  were coached by Prep School Head of Drama, Mary Spink.

After some very fine performances, judges Father David and Head of Senior School English department, Dr Markus Klinge, made their difficult choices while the audience were treated to a musical recital from fellow Prep School pupils.
