Life Skills Week 2023

The last week of term was Life Skills Week at Ardingly College!

In the Lower School, students engaged in a day-long navigation exercise, outdoor education, and workshops that promote teamwork and outdoor skills.

Shell undertook Duke of Edinburgh preparation and participated in a carousel of life skills workshops to develop essential competencies.

Remove dedicated a day to life skills and workshops that enhance their employability and entrepreneurial capabilities, followed by a day of volunteering to foster a sense of community engagement.

Lower Sixth students prepared for university and the professional world through a one-day job challenge and participated in the Futures Programme, which equips them with valuable insights and knowledge.

They also participated in Ardingly’s ‘Inspiring Young Minds project’ where they assume leadership and educational roles when interacting with primary school children.

The development of life skills is a crucial aspect of the educational experience in the Senior School. Recognizing the importance of preparing students for their future beyond academia, the college places a strong emphasis on cultivating essential life skills alongside academic achievement. Whether it’s through engaging in extracurricular activities, participating in leadership roles, undertaking work experience, or taking part in community service initiatives, students are actively encouraged to step out of their comfort zones and acquire practical skills that will benefit them in various aspects of their lives.
