Learning Life Skills:  Ardingly College students end term with a packed programme

Living in a diverse and competitive world, as we are, we encourage our students to grasp every opportunity to be ready for life beyond Ardingly College.

This could range from having the confidence to walk into a room and join a conversation, the insight to understand great team work or being able to cook a nutritious meal.

We do not believe in preaching or teaching this. We believe in getting the students involved hands on, which is why we asked our students to voice their own ideas of what they would like to learn to be more world ready. We took these ideas and created a week of practical application tailored to suit the students’ requests. This included skills as varied as herb gardening, website design, car maintenance, playing the stock market, first aid, cooking, carpentry and ironing.
