IB students’ stunning exhibition of their work in the Gallery

IB Art ExhibitionThe Upper VI IB Visual Artists celebrated the climax of their course on Tuesday 15th March at their final gallery show.
All 12 students presented their work in the studio, showing a vast range of pieces.  Sculpture in clay, shadow, paper, wax and foil was accompanied by adventurous 2d work in media ranging from photographic, silk screen print, oil, acrylic, sand, pencil and pen.  Each artist supported their show with detailed rationales explaining their themes and concepts, giving the audience a clearer understanding of the depth of thinking that has gone into every aspect of this challenging art course.  The higher level students showed 11 pieces of art, and the standard level 7 each.  The gallery was bursting at the seams, full of family, friends and staff who were universally in awe of the talent of this excellent cohort, some of which are leaving Ardingly to read Art History, Architecture and undertake Art Foundation courses at University.  They have all done incredibly well and we wish them every luck for the future.
