Ardingly College students have attained another set of excellent results at GCSE this year. Nineteen of the students in the year group attained 100% A* or A grades and they should be congratulated on their fine achievements.
The average subject grade per candidate was an A, and almost 20% of the 116 Fifth Form (Year 11) attained all A*s or As. 62% of all grades were A*-A, and 85% were A*-B. At a time where the national press is reporting yet another fall in the top grades Ardingly students have swung in the opposite direction, increasing the percentage of A* grades by 1%.
Ardingly science results continue to be particularly outstanding. In Biology 92% of all grades were A*-A, and in Physics 89% of all grades were A*-A. This is especially pleasing as students take the very demanding IGCSE science examinations. Breadth of ability across the curriculum was shown by 95% of all grades in Religious Studies and 89% of all grades in Latin being A*-A.
