GCSE Art students took their annual trip to two carefully selected London galleries on the 6th October, visiting the vast Victoria and Albert Museum and then the contrasting Saatchi Gallery. All students were guided toward investigating anatomical, natural and decorative details within the V&A, sketching first hand from carvings, sculptures and textiles. The bright, challenging pieces in the Iconoclasts show at the Saatchi inspired the students with more contemporary, current artists such as Maurizio Anzeri's beautiful stitched portraits. Both Remove and Fifth Year alike have built their art knowledge and references, tying the work they saw into their personal, practical portfolios of work really successfully.
