England Rowing Gold won by Ardingly College Student

The Home International Regatta is an annual rowing competition between England, Ireland, Scotland and Wales. This year, 76 athletes were selected to represent England, including our very own Millie Warren.

All races were held over the Olympic distance of 2,000m and Millie represented England together with her partner, Evelyn Nutton (from Cheltenham Ladies College) in the Women’s Junior Double Sculls. In a very close and exiting race Millie and Evelyn managed to take the lead after 1,300m. They were able to control the field and answered a late challenge from Ireland, in one of the closest races of the day, winning by 1.8 seconds.

Out of 36 separate races, England came out as winners in 13 of them. Millie and Evelyn were one of the winners, helping England to win the trophy for the most successful Junior Women’s team of the competition.
