Debating Matters Team come Runners Up in the South East
10 May 2016
Having successfully qualified for the south-east regional finals of the Debating Matters Competition (run by the Institute of Ideas), the Ardingly team travelled to Christchurch Canterbury University to compete for a place in the National Finals. We successfully argued the case ‘for’ slave-trade reparations and ‘against’ the renewal of trident putting us in the final of the day’s debating. We were narrowly pipped to the post on the issue of Tax Incentives, but finished second in the South East, earning the school a year’s online subscription to Hodder publications.
