Congratulations to Dr Spiers – STEM Teacher of the Year 2016

STEM teacher of the YearWe're delighted and proud to announce that our Head of Science and Director of the Ardingly Solar Car enterprise has won a highly prestigious education award. From a strong field, Dr Andrew Spiers was shortlisted in the Brighton Argus Youth in Action Awards and at a glittering ceremony on Sunday, June 12 2016 he became STEM Teacher of the Year.

With his customary modesty, Dr Spiers said: "I am very surprised and delighted to have won this award. One of the challenges as a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, Mathematics) teacher is getting students to realise that it's a very creative spread of subjects. It is down to the tenacious, determined and creative endeavours of our students, teachers, parents and the incredibly generous support of industry and academia that our Ardingly Solar project was such a success."

Well done Dr Spiers and all those involved in Ardingly Solar!
