Ardingly College IB Students Celebrate Record Results

IB results

In the year that the IB celebrates 50 years of delivering education for a better world, Ardingly College is celebrating another improvement in the IB grades achieved by its students.

The average mark was 38.4 which UCAS would treat as being the equivalent to in excess of 4 A*s at A Level. Eighteen students also scored over 40.  Globally 7.3% of applicants achieve 40 or higher; at Ardingly the figure is 40%.

Ben Figgis, Headmaster of Ardingly College, expressed his delight at the students’ achievements:

“The IB Diploma is a rigorous pre-university qualification that demands a great deal of the students who study for it.  We are therefore particularly proud of our IB students this year achieving such a high average score and breaking the previous highest grade average set in 2015.  The IB Diploma is graded out of 45, with a global average of a little over 30 points. For well over a third of our cohort to achieve 40+ points and over half to achieve 38 or more is a fantastic achievement for them, and sets them up very well for future success at university and beyond.”
