3158 miles across America and $3000 for charity. That is how Age spent his summer.

Sixth form student, Age spent much of his summer on a bike as he cycled 3158 miles over 45 days across America. Months of training consisting of 10 hours a week on board a bike in the Strength and Conditioning centre help prepare him for this enormous challenge.

Age cycled from Savannah, Georgia to Los Angeles, California and had to deal with 12 flat tyres along the way. But the challenge was worth it as he raised $2500 in aid for Smile Train, the world’s largest cleft charity. Ardingly College encourages and supports students who want achieve extraordinary things.

In a note to his Housemaster, Age acknowledges the Colleges support ‘Sir, I just wanted to thank you for being so accommodating with my training over the last couple months of school’. Age has been asked to share his experience in House assemblies and maybe he will inspire other students to take on similar challenges. https://bit.ly/3uKaeZv
