School Readathon
Children at Ardingly
College Prep School got readily involved in a school Readathon during the
Easter holidays in support of the charity Sightsavers. Sightsavers provides treatment that can help
restore sight, assist with the rehabilitation of those who are irreversibly
blind and help blind children go to school. This week the children learnt that
that they raised an outstanding total of £860! This is just wonderful! It has been a huge success!
There is a real sense of pride amongst the students who got involved as they
are able to see that their efforts can make a difference to the life of another
person. £860 goes a long way!
It
is the equivalent of:
50 cataract
operations - £17 each
86 pairs of glasses -

107 white canes - £8
each
The training of 5
rehabilitation workers - £160 each
