As the world changes at pace, so schools must evolve their educational provision to meet the challenges our children will face in their lifetimes. At Ardingly we seek to provide an education that will sustain children into their adult lives, prepare them for a fast-changing world of work and launch them towards future success and fulfilment.
Education is an exploration of how the world works. It should take us out of the classroom and beyond the school gates – intellectually and physically. Pupils at Ardingly do this in a great variety of ways, connecting with the world beyond school locally, nationally and internationally.
We invest in the curriculum to prepare students to become World Ready, through the academic subjects they study, the approach to learning that we instil, the success they achieve and the real-world experiences they enjoy. We are always looking to build life, employability and entrepreneurial skills, to sustain excellence in our teaching, our culture and our curriculum.
The wider our horizons, the further we can travel. In a hyper-connected world, engaging with the wider world is essential. A diverse school community is a good place to start exploring our knowledge of the world, our relationships with others and our understanding of difference.
Ardingly is an English school with a global perspective. The curriculum is both national and international, with the IB Diploma offered in addition to GCSEs, A Levels and BTEC courses. Our school community is greatly enhanced by overseas students from Europe and beyond.
“Pupils have a highly developed sense of responsibility to their school community and recognise the importance of service to others through their voluntary and charity work. Pupils’ experiences and knowledge are expanded from being part of an international community, especially in the sixth form and in boarding.”
