Sports Talks Programme

It will not just be a talk, but rather each speaker will be asked to facilitate a discussion around the issues raised, and the pupils will be encouraged to critically evaluate what is being said, and, through the said discussion, talk around the subject. The A level students of PE will be running and organising the evening, although I will be overseeing their progress in doing this.

The aims of this programme are:

  • To give the GCSE, AS and A2 PE students an insight into the theoretical issues that they are studying in their classes, from a person involved in sport.
  • To educate the sports scholars about the wider issues surrounding performance and the development of sport.
  • To enthuse any pupils that aren’t taking examination PE, or who aren’t necessarily good at performance in sport, about the background areas of sport, and how they could still be involved in sport without necessarily participating.
