At Ardingly, we believe that the two years you spend in the Sixth Form are essential preparation for university and for life beyond school. Your choice of university, the subjects that you eventually study there and indeed, your future career will all be determined to a large extent by your time in the Sixth Form.
It goes without saying that we will provide you with the best possible education, with excellent teaching, small class sizes and impressive educational facilities. Not surprisingly, our students do get very good results and up to 10 students each year will be offered places at Oxford or Cambridge. However, unlike most schools, Ardingly also allows you to choose between a traditional A Level course and the International Baccalaureate, which offers a more balanced programme of study and has quickly found favour with students and universities in Britain and overseas.
Set on almost 300 acres of Sussex countryside, Ardingly has one of the most attractive campuses in the U.K., yet we are only five minutes to Haywards Heath and from there, 15 minutes by train to Brighton and 45 minutes to London, which gives easy access for theatre and cultural trips.
Ardingly has a friendly, happy atmosphere, and while it is essentially an English boarding school (and a very good one at that), about 20% of our students are from overseas. This allows you to mix with teenagers from all over the world and to make global friendships that will last a lifetime. Exposure to other cultures and religions will also prepare you for life after university when, in all probability, you may well work abroad at some stage in the future.
