Richard Bool, 41, is currently a housemaster at Sherborne School, Dorset. Since arriving at Sherborne in 1998, he has taught Geography, Law, Politics and IB Theory of Knowledge.
Mr Bool, who is married with three children, read Geography at Exeter University before attending the College of Law in Guildford. He also has a PGCE in Geography from the Institute of Education and an MBA in Educational Management from Leicester University.
Before requalifying as a teacher, he worked as a solicitor at Linklaters, a city law firm, and then for Russell-Cooke, specialising in commercial litigation and fraud. He has also worked as a “stagière” in the Environmental Directorate of the European Commission.
Mr Bool is fluent in French, Italian and German and his sporting interests include squash, cricket, tennis, skiing and triathlons.
He has recently written a well-reviewed interactive CD-Rom, “Coasts”, covering the syllabus for both GCSE and A Level Physical Geography.
Richard Bool replaces Mike Carslaw, who is moving on to become Headmaster at St Leonard’s School in Scotland.
