Ardingly College is a co-educational school within the Woodard Corporation founded to teach the Christian faith; Ardingly welcomes students from other churches and faiths.
Our aim is to enable all our boys and girls to develop their love of learning, academic potential and individual talents in a caring community which fosters sensitivity, confidence, a sense of service and enthusiasm for life.
Ardingly has a strong boarding ethos, that means from breakfast to bedtime there are things to do and people to do them with. All our boys and girls, boarding or day, benefit from this.
I could tell you about our outstanding boarding facilities, ever improving. Our 400 acres on land in an area of outstanding natural beauty; our wonderful reputation for music, sport and drama; but what strikes prospective and current parents, governors and other visitors is the quality of the atmosphere – “The Ardingly factor”.
We are proud to teach our boys and girls to learn, to think independently, to challenge, to discuss, rather than being treated as empty vessels to be filled with facts. Our academic success speaks for itself. We offer a mixed economy in the Sixth Form, half the students follow the IB curriculum and half the A level curriculum. In the recent published league tables Ardingly came 126th out of the top 1,000 independent and maintained schools in England. Our top 50% of students, those able to get into the most academic selective schools in the UK, achieved nearly 90% A and B grades at IB/A level. By any measure well into the premier league!
