The Prep School Day

The School Day starts from 8.00am, with all pupils registered by 8.20am. The end of the prep school day is flexible to accommodate family needs but academic teaching finishes at 4.40pm for pupils in Year 3 to Year 6 on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. The exception to this is for Year 5 and 6 who finish at 5.30pm on a Monday and Year 6 who also finish at 5.30pm on Tuesday. This ensures 'preps are done at school'. Years 7 and 8 finish at 5.30pm on Monday, Tuesday and Thursday. Wednesday is our match day and usually finishes at 4.15pm, while our finish on Friday is 4.00pm for all year groups. Clubs and activities are put on most evenings. The younger pupils can choose to take part in an activity from 4.45pm to 5.30pm and then stay for supper if they so wish. The older pupils can have supper after prep and then choose an activity from 6.00pm to 7.00pm. At 7pm our boarding staff take over, running a programme that keeps the boarders busy but also offers time for them to catch up on their music lessons, their work, or just to relax.
