Pre-Nursery School

The Pre-Nursery offers sessions for either the morning, the afternoon, or for a full day. Children may enter our Pre-Nursery once they have reached the age of two and a half and, at this point, we recommend they attend a minimum of two sessions per week whilst they become accustomed to their new routines.

All of our staff work hard to provide a warm, welcoming and supportive atmosphere in a newly refurbished building dedicated to Nursery-aged children. A wide range of activities, both indoors and outside, develop the children's confidence and ability to take risks whilst they learn through structured play and other creative activities in their small groups. All the facilities at Ardingly College are enjoyed by our young pupils. They are kept busy cooking, gardening, making music, taking part in an extensive range of physical activities and simply enjoying each others' company.

'Before School Care' is available from 8.00 am each morning. At the end of the school day, at 3.15 pm there is an 'After School Care' facility which runs until 6.00 pm. An additional charge is made for the afternoon sessions of care.

Nursery School

Children join our Nursery in the September following their third birthday.  Our Head of Nursery is a qualified teacher, with Early Years Professional Status, and our Nursery Nurses all have the required training. Nursery school pupils are required to attend four sessions, of your choice, per week. These sessions may be made up of mornings, afternoons or full days.

A healthy, freshly prepared hot lunch is available at the end of the morning session.

As mentioned earlier, 'Before School Care' is available from 8.00 am each morning.  At the end of the school day, at 3.15 pm there is 'After School Care' which runs until 6.00 pm. An additional charge is made for the afternoon sessions of care.

We encourage the children to take advantage of all the opportunities on offer.  These include language, listening, social and physical activities. The children benefit from a swimming lesson every week throughout the year. They enjoy mathematical games, scientific exploration and have a range of technological resources.  A member of the specialist staff encourages creative dance to inspire the imagination.

Our impressive grounds provide a rich source of information for the children to explore and they also have a great deal of fun when cultivating their own garden.

From the Nursery School, children move up to the Pre-Prep School.

We follow the Early Years Foundation Stage curriculum, are registered by Ofsted and participate in the Government Nursery Funding Scheme.
