Pre-Prep Life

A typical day in Ardingly Pre-Prep would begin at 8.00 in the morning, in our Friends' Barn, if your child attends our 'Before School Care'. All other children arrive at any time before 8.45 am and then play in our beautiful playgrounds before they are called into their classrooms for lessons.

Hilary Nawrocka, Head of the Pre-Prep Department, is in the playground to greet children and their parents at both the start and end of each day. In inclement weather, parents and children are welcomed into the Atrium for warmth, cover and a chat with their friends.

The day begins with registration followed by Assembly at 9.00 am. The children then have a session in mathematics, reading or writing until they break to have a healthy snack and drink before going out to play. All children enjoy playing with a variety of toys in our well equipped playgrounds.

The second session follows playtime at 11.00 am and this runs until 12.15 pm. Children then have a play before and after their freshly cooked and carefully prepared meal at lunch time.

Children may do any of the following lessons in science, art, geography, history, drama, music or sport, including swimming in the College swimming pool, in the afternoon session which runs from 1.15pm until 3.15 pm. Later in the day children have a choice of after school activities following which they may go home or attend our 'After School Care' until 6.00 pm.

After a good day of work our children go home tired but happy!
