Professor Jonathan Bacon
This term welcomed the 4th lecture in the Headmaster's Lecture series, with guest speaker Professor Jonathan Bacon, Dean of Life Sciences at Sussex University.
Professor Bacon graduated from Cambridge and went on to teach and lecture in New York, Germany, Switzerland and Jamaica. His talk to the Sixth form was on the matter of the mind and the workings of the brain, which proved to be absolutely fascinating with many members of the audience finding their brain to be tricking them with some of the exercises Professor Bacon set. We also learned about the origins of personality and listened to some of the gruesome situations our brain can be subjected to and the effect of these on our personalities. All agreed the lecture to be very interesting and enlightening; it definitely whetted our appetite for the next instalment in the series !
