“Chopin Enchantment” a Candlelight Performance by Adolfo Barabino

Ardingly College Chapel Sunday 13th December 2009 at 7.30 pm     

A candlelit recital of Chopin nocturnes, mazurkas and the second piano sonata performed by  international concert pianist Adolfo Barabino, makes a perfect start to the Christmas season in the magnificent setting of Ardingly College Chapel.

Adolfo Barabino (www.adolfo-barabino.com) is an Italian concert pianist, born in Genoa, who has performed all over the world but has now settled in mid Sussex.  He recently made his debut with the London Philharmonic Orchestra and is currently recording the complete works of Chopin with Claudio Records.  

Critics describe him as having:  "a velvet touch and great virtuosity" and  "a great talent with very deep musicality: rarely can you hear such a beautiful sound, full of nuances.”

The concert is the opening event of a five day intensive International Piano Masterclass held by Adolfo Barabino in the music department of Ardingly College. The Masterclass will be attended by a selection of promising young British and overseas pianists.
