The Law Society

This term we welcomed Anthony Prosser a Barrister with St Andrew’s Hill to be the inaugural speaker for our Law Society. Tony was called to the Bar in 1985 and over the last 24 years has been involved in a wide variety of criminal prosecution and defence work. Tony delivered an inspiring session in which he explained the training required for a career at the Bar, he also ran through a variety of interesting cases that he had been involved in. The students were fascinated and intrigued by his work and asked a variety of insightful questions.

Later this term we will be joined by Christopher Saint and Jeremy Sare. Christopher worked for the Home Office from 1982 until his retirement in 2006; during this time he held a variety of senior roles and in 2004 became the Director of Policy for Drugs in the Government Regional Offices. Jeremy has also had an impressive career with the Home Office and is now a freelance journalist and policy consultant having written articles on drug control, immigration, gun laws and child protection.

We will also welcome Elena Elia (an OA and trainee Barrister), Trevor Albery Vice-President, EMEA Anti-Piracy Operations Warner Bros. Entertainment Europe and a group of students will visit the RCJ and Old Bailey.
