A Quartet of Kidgers run at Nottingham

Sussex Athletics history was made when four siblings donned Sussex vests to compete in the Inter-county Cross-country championships at Nottingham, which also incorporates the “World Championship Trials” for the seniors, and Under 20.

Old Ardinian, Joel Kidger, who won the senior race at last weekend's Sussex League race at Lancing, will be running in the senior team while younger sister Katie Kidger , also an Old Ardinian, who is currently at Loughborough will be lining up in the senior women's squad.

Even younger sisters Beth and Megan, both in Year 10 at Ardingly College, who now compete for Phoenix, competed in the Under 15 age group.  Although there have been several occasions when two siblings, including twins several times, have competed in the same year and even three when the Bristows, John, Andrew and Paul from Brighton & Hove made several appearances in the same team but I cannot recall more than three competing in the same year let alone the same venue.
