Art
Our newly renovated Art School houses a large gallery, 4 Studios, including a Textiles room, a 6th form teaching room, an extensive art library and IT Suite, a darkroom and kiln room. We have an international reputation, attracting students because of the quality of the Art teaching. The GCSE art course is comprehensive and varied, producing work that is of a high standard. On average over 75% of our students gain As or A*s. In the Sixth Form we do both A levels and the
International Baccalaureate, taking students on trips to cities like New York, Florence and Paris most years to look at the Art.

‘Power Undresed’
The Royal Academy of Arts is probably the most prestigious art gallery in the
United Kingdom. Our art department has recently been informed of the success of Anna Wise in the Upper Sixth in gaining a coveted shortlisted position in the 2010 Online Summer Exhibition. Her double painting entitled ‘Power Undressed’ was selected from a massive entry of 1300 students work from across the country. This recognition shows the quality of art work at Ardingly continues to reach the highest national standards and we would like to congratulate Anna on her impressive success.
Attached is the link to the finalist pages for the Royal Academy A Level exhibition. Anna Wise's double painting, 'Power Undressed', has made it from the shortlist into the final Royal Academy Show. Apart from the glory of being selected, she wins a certificate and a complimentary ticket to the Summer Exhibition in London.
