Tutorial System

Central to our pastoral system is the personal Tutor. At the start of your son or daughter's time here, he/she will be assigned a tutor; this is a member of staff who meets with their tutees usually once a week on a one to one basis for students in Remove and beyond. Shell students have a House Tutor and are asked to choose their Tutors for Year then in their final term in Year 9. Academic progress is discussed, help and advice given with organisation and matters of personal interest addressed where necessary or appropriate.
 
Your son or daughter has the choice of remaining with that Tutor or asking to become the tutee of another member of staff as they progress through the school. We will do all we can to make sure that your son or daughter is looked after by a member of staff with whom he or she can get on an develop a good relationship. We like to think that our tutorial system is a very special feature of Ardingly.
